Mark Swihart received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is a UB distinguished professor in the department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Buffalo.

He is Executive Director of the Center of Excellence in Materials Informatics which leverages UB's cutting edge materials science, big data analytics and advanced manufacturaing expertise to drive critical R&D activities that directly impact private sector growth.
